About Sunday School

Al-Wali Academy Sunday School is committed to providing the best Islamic education, environment, and activities for the children, youth, and other members of our community by offering interesting teaching programs.

  • Provide Islamic teachings to Muslim children and help them understand the basics of Quran and Seera.
  • Provide children an opportunity to meet and know each other and thereby strengthen their bond as a Muslim umma
  • Make children aware of Islam and their future role in Muslim society
  • The teaching shall be non-sectarian and non-controversial

Curriculum

Quran & Arabic

The Quran class focuses on areas of reading, reciting, memorization and understanding of the Holy Qur’an. Students are grouped into age-appropriate levels and are assigned a series of Surahs for each level.

Arabic language classes are grouped according to each student’s level of proficiency.

The language is taught from the alphabet to words and Tajweed development.

Islamic Studies

Students begin to learn the basics of Islam to more advanced topics, including references from the Qur’an, Seerah of the Prophet (s), and hadeeth.
The course is aimed to help establish the students foundational beliefs of Islam (‘Aqa’ida) based on age-appropriate and graded material. Some topics are covered in multiple levels for added perspective, details, and emphasis.

The course also focuses on Islamic morals, manners, and values.

Sirah of Our Prophet (PBUH)

In this course the students study the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The purpose of this course is to provide insight into the mannerisms, ethics, teachings and examples of the Prophet (PBUH) .

Students explore the Prophet's interactions with society, religion and many aspects of his life.
